Sproodle Puppies 2025

May 20, 2025

There was awhile there when I thought I wasn’t going to help raise any more litters…thankfully this week there is good news and F1 Sproodle Puppies are on their way.

I started breeding with Lupin 8 years ago with the plan of “ Only one litter” . That was a hot summer and together we raised her twelve sproodle puppies, by the end of the 8 weeks I was exhausted and she was fed up with them. I said “ Never doing that again…”

A year later and the joy of those puppies in their new homes and watching them grow up convinced me to do it again. We had moved and were renovating the house so gave Lupin and her second litter the whole of what was the second bedroom.

By the time we had her third I knew exactly what we needed and had designed our downstairs shower room to work brilliantly as a puppy bedroom with access to outside through a special puppy gate.

I knew I only had one more litter with Lupin so her last one was Springers. We had moved again and this litter were all born in The Highlands of Scotland. I loved Lupin so much I needed no convincing to keep three daughters in the hope they would be like her. None of them are remotely like her! Another lesson learnt!

In between during Covid I was inundated with emails pleading for puppies so Tuli my sproodle had one litter and two of her sisters living with their families also had litters with homes organised from my extensive waiting list.

The F1b sproodles were absolutely gorgeous so I didn’t need much convincing to have a second and final litter with Tuli while I waited for the Springer sisters to grow up.

I chose Myrtle age two to have the first litter and we put her to the very experienced stud dog Diego who we had already used for Tuli. Although we got the timing right, and she stood beautifully she didn’t get pregnant. When this happens you can use the stud dog again for free which we did and again no pregnancy. This was when I began to fear that these three sisters with their very close familial bond were not going to allow each other to actually fall pregnant. Tuli always came into season first followed by them all at the same time.

In April this year though suddenly Rosie came into season, none of the others were showing any signs so I counted her days and dashed down to see Diego in Inverness again. We had two very good natural ties and then the wait. I was so unsure this time that I told no-one.

On the 19th May with very low expectations we went to Canine Fertility Services for her scan.

The utter joy when seven wriggling black spots appeared on the screen. Due date 21st June which is the Summer solstice so its going to be light pretty much 24/7 up here.

I have a current waiting list from which I am hoping seven families will soon commit to having one of these F1 Sproodles. Please do email me if you would like one too. There was a time there when I thought I would be re-writing my whole website, thank goodness Rosie stepped up to be the new Mum. She is exactly the same age as Lupin when she had her first litter.

I enjoy teaching families dog listening via video chat so they can solve all their dogs issues. I also breed and raise the best sproodle puppies I can.
